For employees new to the Health & Social Care Sector, the Care Certificate is the default Induction.
The Care Certificate is a theory and competency qualification which is expected to be completed over the employees first twelve weeks. Training for Care will support Organisations with every aspect of the Care Certificate.
For new recruits who have been in the Health & Care Sector prior to 2015, there is not requirement for them to complete the Care Certificate. However, it is advisable that they still receive an Induction which is tailored to their experience, qualifications, knowledge, understanding and level of competence. It is advisable however that any Induction is underpinned by the standards set by the core competencies of the Care Certificate. For staff with an RQF (NVQ) qualification Train for Care can map over learning to the Care Certificate framework.
The Care Certificate is both knowledge and competency based, we will support Organisations with the relevant documentation to enable assessment in the workplace. We can also train experienced staff to assess in the workplace.
Train for Care will work with Organisations in tailoring any training to their own specific requirements.
